The updated handbook for the Counselor Preparation Comprehensive Examination is now available to download. This revised handbook includes all the information examinees need about CPCE registration, scheduling, and administration. CCE is proud to make this resource available for all examinees.
The CPCE is a comprehensive examination for counselors-in-training nearing the end of their master’s program. This psychometrically sound examination provides detailed feedback for both examinees and programs. Students can view relative strengths and weaknesses, while programs can compare results to national data.
“At the Center for Credentialing and Education, we hold a strong belief in empowering mental health professionals by providing them with the necessary resources to deliver effective care and bring about positive transformations in the lives of those they serve,” says CPCE Coordinator Carri Curtis. “That is why we are thrilled to introduce the CPCE Handbook. With this invaluable resource at the fingertips of our examinees, we are certain that they will be able to navigate the test-taking process with ease and unwavering confidence.”
In addition to including the latest information on the CPCE, the handbook has been reorganized for ease of use. All essential information is organized based on the three different examination forms—Anywhere Proctored Browser delivery on a university campus (CPCE-APB), Computer-Based Testing delivery at a Pearson VUE Test Center (CPCE-CBT), and OnVUE online examination delivery at home.
Over 300 college and university counseling programs across the country use the CPCE. Learn more about the CPCE on our website.
